SNR
NTN SNR EUROPE is part of the NTN Corporation group. The company SNR was founded in 1946 in France and is a leading global manufacturer of bearings, supplying products to production lines of all Japanese and several European automotive brands.
The company not only manufactures but also provides technical maintenance for its products during their operational life. NTN SNR is the largest supplier of bearings for automotive products. Two-thirds of the company’s production is specifically made for the automotive aftermarket and manufacturing sectors. The rest is used in aerospace, cement industry, wind energy, food industry, and machine tool manufacturing.
NTN SNR EUROPE holds 14 quality certificates. It was the first company to receive the ISO 9001 certification in 1990. In 1994, the company was awarded Class A under the EAQF system — the European Automotive Quality Framework, and in 1997 it obtained the QS 9000 certification, the quality system for American and Japanese manufacturers.
The quality of bearings is checked at every production stage — from primary processing (forging, hot and cold stamping, turning, and milling) to grinding and assembly. During finishing, bearings are ground with tools to achieve a surface roughness of 10 nanometers, whereas standard processing results in roughness up to 2000 nanometers. The low roughness allows the formation of an oil film between metal surfaces, preventing seizure. The mirror-smooth surface is a key indicator of the authenticity of NTN SNR bearings.
The company produces various types of bearings including ball bearings, spherical, tapered, cylindrical, needle roller bearings; high-precision bearings; bearing housings; and self-aligning bearing units.
